Q3: Where can I buy the Hotelier novel (in Chinese)?
A3: The Kinokuniya bookshop (Ngee Ann City, Singapore). The novel comes in two parts (Part I and II), original script: Jiang Yin Qing, written by: Yin Chen Yi, ISBN: 957-10-2376-0. In our humble opinions, the novel is more like a detailed script of the drama, rather than a novel. However, worth buying if you are a Hotelier fan.

Q4: Did the singer for the song "the day we met" appear as himself in the last episode?
A4: Yes. The singer, Kang Chul, appear to sing in the last episode, at the hotel staff gathering.

Q5: Why didn’t Zhen Yin receive Dong Xian’s email earlier?
A5a: her computer was not working
A5b: most likely, oversight in the script

Q6: What scenes are missing/edited out in the VCD/final release?
A6a: in some versions, the noodle shop scenes were not there
A6b: Zhen Yin comforts Dong Xian outside the Villa after his family reunion (snap shots), (flash movie)

Q7: Why is the ending of Hotelier like this? Has some scenes been cut?
A7: The ending has not been cut and the last episode did end like that.

Q8: How did Dong Xian get all the Hotel Seoul shares from Director Kim (in epsiode 19)?
A8: Director Kim is already the owner of Seoul Hotel debts .. Dong Xian was put in charge of these debts and maybe he was nomindated as the trustee) Hence he was able to convert those debts owings into shares of the Hotel. The debts of the Hotel is thus resolved ... and now Dong Xian have on his hands shares of the hotel equal to the value of debts outstanding.
However, the Hotel shares are rightfully owned by Director Kim. Dong Xian will need to use all his money and also sell all his properties in order to get enough liquidity to buy the shares at twice the value (as an inventive for Director Kim to sell at a profit) ... This is what Dong Xian meant as the theory of money coming out from the right pocket into the left and along the way, the money value increased twice .. And now Dong Xian own the shares but lost all his properties.
All this is feasible as Director Kim did not bother to look at the contract that Leo drafted ... on whether Director Kim is selling the debts or shares. Director Kim was only concerned about the value - twice the original amount and that he just agreed to sell off ...
(Hereby, we thank Shirley for contributing the suggested answer)

Q9: How long was Dong Xian away?
A9: Our guess is 4-7 months. Reason: Let's assume Manager Wu and Manager Lee need 3 to 6 months to prepare their wedding. Thus, when Chun Qing is 1-month pregnant, 4 to 7 months would be passed.

Q10: Even if Dong Xian was away for 1 month (1 week), why do Zhen Yin and Dong Xian react as though they were separated a long time ... ?
A10: Dong Xian and Zhen Yin may not have communicated via email or phone for the past one week (or slightly a few more days), which is unusual for them. Zhen Yin is worried about Dong Xian.
Even when Dong Xian and Zhen Yin could communicate via email or phone, they can’t see and feel each other in person.
Basically, this has little to do with the length of time. The bottom line is Zhen Yin did not expect to see Dong Xian. His sudden appearance is a surprise to her! To a pair of lovers who has not seen each otherfor so many months, it's only natural for them to hug each other.

Q11: ... Without Tai Jun invitation, does it mean that Dong Xian will never attempt to return to Korea?
A11: It may not a total 'exile'. It seems that the police cannot guarantee Dong Xian and Leo's safety after their 'counter-attack' on Director Kim. As Director Kim has apparently given up his old ways, then it might be "safe" for them to return.
If you remember, Director Kim has drafted a document against Dong Xian and Leo (Director Kim's secretary has accidentally implicated Director Kim in that document). Dong Xian and Leo may be exposed Director Kim's documents and evil ways, but they are also being fined and asked to stay away from Seoul for a certain period of time after the case ended.
Dong Xian will try his best to return to Seoul within the shortest time for the woman he love, with or without Tai Jun's invitation. His total co-operation with the Legal Department might have resulted a shorter 'exile' period. Dong Xian has collaborated with Tai Jun and Jenny in order to give Zhen Yin a pleasant surprise. The "invited guest/special VIP" may be the "secret code" given to Tai Jun by Dong Xian.
When Tai Jun received the "secret code", he'll bring Zhen Yin to the lobby to meet him.
Dong Xian likes to give Zhen Yin surprises, if you have noticed.

Q12: How old is Dong Xian, Tai Jun and Zhen Yin?
A12: Dong Xian: ~32 (he met Leo at 22 and worked with him for 10 years)
Tai Jun: 34 (he looked older than Dong Xian but cannot be much older)
Zhen Yin:
(1) ~28-29 (younger than Dong Xian and Tai Jun. We guessed that she graduated from UNLV (should be around 22 to 24 yrs old), add one year of industrial attachment and 3 more years for "waiting")

(2) 26: on her birthday cake, there were 2 larger candles (assumed to be the tens), and 6 smaller ones (

Q13: Who bought the scarf for Zhen Yin: Dong Xian or Leo?
A13: Has to be Dong Xian. Else, he won't recognize it when Zhen Yin was wearing it when they had lunch at the mansion.

Q14:
What is inside the folder which Dong Xian throw on the table during his first meeting with Director Jin?
Confusion arise as Dong Xian said to Jin, prior to he throw the folder onto the table: "You think I come for the hotel?"
A14a: Assuming that Dong Xian is not lying, the folder should not contain information related to the Hotel. So, it could be information related to the main purpose of his trip e.g. looking for his father and sister.
A14b: As this is a business meeting, it may not be likely that Dong Xian is willing to discuss about personal issue. If that is the case, his statement of "you think I come for the hotel?" could be only bluffing, and to show Director Jin that he has done his homework before coming to Seoul. (

A14c: Instead of coming only for Hotel Seoul, Dong Xian has other business plan in mind (Excerpts from the Japanese Novel; translated by Kay)
Director Kim... Do you think I come all the way to Seoul just for one hotel case"
Kim Bok-man didn't quite get his intentions and looked at Dong-hyuk, trying to sound him out.
"Then...you have something beside the Hotel Seoul case ...?"
Dong-hyuk took out the file and put it on the table. The file slid on the table to Bok-man.
"There seems to be some more hotels in Seoul whose financial situations are like that of Hotel Seoul."
Kim Bok-man, who has fought through corporate battles, and afraid of nothing, was surprised. He had a kind of awe in him. He glanced at the file and the cool-blooded executioner alternately.
