She needed to see Dong Xian. She needed to ask him about the ‘truth’ she heard from the hotel management.

On her way to Sapphire, Zhen Yin recalled the past memories with Dong Xian. Did he get close to her because of the acquisition case? Did he lie to her? She shivered.

The meeting has ended. Dong Xian was on the line when Zhen Yin arrived. Leo left Sapphire. He gave them a chance to be alone. )

Dong Xian (he put the line on hold) "Miss Zhen Yin, aren’t you tired? Why haven’t you returned home to rest?" he is concerned about her well-being.

"Is … is that true?", she asked.

He is stunned. What is she referring to? He read ‘hurt’ in her eyes. He is getting an inauspicious feel.

"Are you really here for our hotel?", she demanded an answer.

Dong Xian postponed his tele-conversation. He realized the graveness of the current situation. He needed to explain to Zhen Yin immediately.

Dong Xian was still seated "Who did you hear that from?" he asked.

"Please answer my question. Did Director Kim send you here? Is that true?", Zhen Yin looked intensely at Dong Xian. Zhen Yin hoped to get a negative reply from him.

Dong Xian wished to confess to her before she know the ‘truth’ from some third party. However, … "Emmm, Miss Zhen Yin …"

"Are you being employed by Director Kim?", she persisted.

Dong Xian stood up, "Please be seated. We can talk."

Dong Xian walked towards Zhen Yin. The documents on Hotel Seoul are still in his hands. Zhen Yin snatched the documents and realized that those were materials on ‘Hotel Seoul’ … "All these … all these are true …" she shivered. The last ray of hope was dashed.

Dong Xian attempted to explain, "Miss Zhen Yin …

"You have been using me all these while, am I right?" asked Zhen Yin. She has actually believed in his sincerity! She almost laughed at her own silly behavior.

He attempted to soothe her, he walked closer to her, "Please listen to me …"

She threw the documents onto his face "Liar!" the documents fell slowly onto the carpet.

"Please calm down and listen to me …", Dong Xian pleaded.

"What’s left to be said?" she felt like a fool (because of him) "You get close to me initially because you knew I work in Hotel Seoul. Your motive of coming to ‘Hotel Seoul’ … " Zhen Yin refused to be interrupted by his explanations "your reason of being nice and considerate to me all these while … was because … you wanted to make use of me … this has all been part of your plot!"

She refused to accept any explanations. Dong Xian said "it’s not the way you said" "Please do not agitate, listen to me …"

Tears flicked in her eyes, "Why me? Do you think I am such an easy prey? Am I someone you could buy with a few stalks of roses or some expensive gifts?"

He saw tears in her eyes and on her cheeks. His heart pained in a way that is similar to hers, both in depth and magnitude, "I know you are not!"

"You must be happy now!" she cried "Everything falls into place as planned. You have found such an easy prey like me. You must be happy! I …" the 'truth' has hurt her "I don’t know this is the truth. I thought I could really fall in love this time …"

"My feelings for you are true and sincere. You must believe me!", Dong Xian said. Tears flickered in his eyes too.

His acting skills are superb, she thought then. She saw the tears in his eyes and heard the urgency in his voice "Someone from M&A … A ‘hunter’ like yourself could make lies sound so convincing" she cried "I don’t understand … Why did you choose me? I feel like a fool now …"

"I wanted to tell you the entire truth, Miss Zhen Yin" Dong Xian held her shoulders with his hands "Please sit down"

"Take your hands off me. You are disgusting!" She shook off his hold. She threw the necklace back to him "please give this to some mercenary female hotelier!" she cried and stormed out of Sapphire. Dong Xian stood on the same spot, with the necklace and documents on the carpet …

Dong Xian picked up the necklace and documents. He stared at the necklace. He showered her with all those gifts to make her happy. (This is the only way he know.) He has no intention to ‘buy’ her. He has only just put on the necklace on her … he slipped the necklace into his pocket.

She has misunderstood him completely. Recalling her sad expression saddened him further. He sighed. He hated himself for hurting her. He shredded the documents and threw them on the carpet.

He is sad, very much so. He has to hold on to a chair, for support.
