|
|
okie... I'm going to start the official Lee Dong Gun thread in our hotel . I think he deserve a thread of his own . Will all LDG fans come in & support him (pls say YES!! *enthusiastically*).
Anyone to provide the bio-data? I need to know his birthdate (so that I can send him my greeting or when his comes ). Need his horoscope to see if we are compatible . Need to know his height & weight to see if he meet my critieria (this one sure pass ) & more..... etc.
Someone requested for his pictures... yesterday when soompi was still around (not today ), I manage to d/l quite a few pictures. I shall post it here now.
Pls note: gals, I know we all like to share our goodies, but..da... it's a sensitive issue when it comes to where u link or d/l your pictures/video clips from. Some are so enthusiastic & "high" that they forget to take a step... to credit the person who posted it somewhere else & the original source. Can we make it a point to write a little note after posting the link or image, the source & credit the person who make an effort to collect all these goodies for us?
It's not nice if the person comes into our forum & see their stuff been posted without permission. If an official complaint is been made to the management, there could be risk to pull out these links/images for respect of the original poster.
If no source can be found, juz credit to the website u linked or d/l, okie?

Congratutions to FLY in staring this thread !!
I think LDG is an actor whom one might need a bit of time to digest. He is young, handsome and hunky looking. So one might doubt his ability of being a good actor. I read somewhere that LDG has been in the showbiz for 8 years. But only when he acted in Ruler Of Your World when he came up with actress like Lee Na-young and Yang Dong-guen who were so serious with their acting, that he decided to concentrate in his acting career. Before this, we all know that he debut as a singer with 2 albums released.
I first came across him in Nang Rang 18 Seh. I thought he was quite good in it. Then I saw him in Sangdoo lets go to school. Followed by Lovers in Paris. I thought him being able to take a back seat in front of two senior actor/actress was really his biggest virtue. And this turned out to be the drama that turned a new page for his acting career.
Now we know that LDG is playing the lead in a new drama titled Yuriwha, co-starring Kim Ha-neul and Kim Sung-soo. He is also making his debut on the big screen with a movie titled My Blood Type B Boyfriend. His co-star is none other than the beautiful Han Ji-hye.
I think this guy has a lot of potentials.
But we also know that he is enrolled for army conscription next year, right ?!

Dear Fly
Great LDG pics!!!!
Haha, all the LDG admirers and sympathizers congregating here.
LDG in Ruler of Your Own World
The first time I saw him in ROYOW I thought he looked like BYJ!! I no longer think so but I believe I'm not the only one who had that first impression. LDG's role in ROYOW is a rather mixed bag - he's petty and superficial and occasionally even childish. But at the same time, he's caring and sweet and very helpful. My overall impression of him was positive and that motivated me to buy Sweet 18, his first lead role in a drama.
LDG in Sweet 18
This is a 16-episode romantic comedy and I felt LDG really delivered in his first lead role. In an interview after ROYOW, LDG said that he was very impressed by Yang Dong-geun and Lee Na-young's acting in ROYOW. Even though they were young (about the same age as him), they were so professional in their acting and he felt motivated to emulate them. As a result, he decided to give up his fledging singing career and concentrate on acting. When he was cast as the lead for Sweet 18, he was so happy.
In Sweet 18, LDG's character undergoes a gradual transformation after he gets married to his 18-year old bride, Han Ji-hye, in an arranged marriage. At first he is completely devoted to his job as a public prosecutor. Because of their 10-year age gap, he keeps thinking his wife is a "kid" and he is not always amused by her antics. Nevertheless, because of his innately kind and upright personality, he is determined to be good to his wife. Little does he forsee that he would slowly fall in love with her.
In this drama, we see LDG in conservative suits most of the time. But when his wife asks him to wear the traditional Korean attire for her or to wear funky torn jeans, he sportingly obliges. His devotion to her is really exemplary. Together, the husband-wife pair go through many ups and downs and share many touching and hilarious experiences. The later episodes are especially romantic. The sweetest (and longest) piggy-back scene I've ever seen is in Sweet 18.
It's difficult to be unmoved by LDG in this drama. Like Dottie said, he's the dream son-in-law that you hope your daughter will bring home. Why, he's so yummy you might even want to keep him for yourself!! Whether he is chasing criminals, hugging his wife when she is sad, or agonizing over his responsibilites as the firstborn son in the Andong Kwon clan, LDG is so pleasant to watch. My only complaint about him is his crying. His most heartbreaking scene when he was sobbing was also the scene where I couldn't help laughing. His crying was so bad!! Then I watched him in Pari and oh boy, his crying had improved by leaps and bounds!
LDG in Love in Paris
To take on a role as a baddie and to play second fiddle to the very experienced and charismatic Park Shin-yang would probably have daunted many up-and-coming actors, especially after they have had a very successful outing as lead in their previous drama. But after the success of Sweet 18, LDG took on Pari and this turned out to be his breakthrough role. His acting as the angst-ridden Yoon Soo-hyuk was so convincing he even tried to suggest a suicide ending for his character because so many people hated Soo-hyuk so much!! This was the role that made many people (and companies) sit up and take notice of LDG.
In Pari, LDG looked very different from his Kwon Hyuk-joon role in Sweet 18. He was now noticeably much thinner, and there was an older and more world-weary air about him. In the first few episodes of Pari, he portrayed a happy-go-lucky person who could banter so easily with others but as the drama progressed, we saw him change completely. As many viewers would describe it, Soo-huk "went over to the dark side" and even his facial expressions became dark and menacing.
LDG's portrayal of the emotionally-tormented Soo-hyuk is nothing short of astounding, especially for those of us who saw him in ROYOW and Sweet 18 first. He is now busy filming a movie, My Boyfriend is Type B (with Han Ji-hye), and a drama, Rationalization (with Kim Ha-neul). His acting future is looking pretty bright indeed. |

Jung Sook Yoon's life all starts off when she is born in a old country in Seoul, Korea. She was born from a rich family, and her father was a scholar, as well as her grandfather. Another scholar has a grandson named Hyuk Joon Kwon, age 9, and the two elders, who were best friends, make a promise to allow the two children to marry.
But when something goes wrong in the family, the family is forced to run away. After a great shock in the heart, Jung Sook's grandpa passes away. The Kwon family, not knowing what had happened, is desperately looking for Jung Sook's family.
Now, eighteen years later, Jung Sook is a girl with a high spirit, warm heart, and loves acting like a gangster. She is the leader of a gang at her school named the Five Mirror Princesses (they receive this nickname because they look in the mirror too much). She always getting in trouble and such. When she meets her first crush, her prince, while ditching school to go to the night club with the other members, she falls in love with the way he hid his identity.
One day, while going to meet her friends, a man working for the Kwon family, comes and asks of Jung Sook. The two family is reunited. Troubles begin to stir when Hyuk Joon's older sister: Sun Hwa Kwon finds out that Hyuk Joon is getting married and disapproves of Jung Sook. But Jung Sook is determined to get married to Hyuk Joon when she finds out that the mystery man was Hyuk Joon.
After the two get married, the worst comes out of it, when Hyuk Joon's first love and first girlfriend, Ga Young Moon, returns to Seoul and tries to win Hyuk Joon back, although she knows that Hyuk Joon is married she tries to get the two apart with the help of Hyuk Joon's sister. Ga Young puts Jung Sook in much pain and misery. Because of all this, all that winds up is what seems like an endless amount of fights. But with Hyuk JoonĄ's saying of that first love never works out for anyone, Ga Young realizes that she cannot win Hyuk JoonĄ's heart because of his love for Jung Sook she decides to finally let him go.
In the end, the two realize that no one person could be better for each other. And Jung Sook realizes that Hyuk Joon is wrong for once. First love can work out if you make it work out.

This is a light drama but yet, a sweet one I started to like watching it after first episode! It's very enjoyable, filmnya lucu2, but yet mengharukan juga
Lee Dong Won is SO CUTE! and eventhough their marriage is an arranged marriage, but both of them surely grow to love one another so sweeeet...
yet, the antagonist, Hyuk-joon's ex, Ga-young who is also a prosecutor (is it the same as laywer?), is still very much in love with Hyuk-joon and try her best to screw up their marriage.
This is a typical story about 'dijodohin' gara2 grandpa'nya know each other. But then, they turn out to be the best for each other, despite of the 10 years age difference. If you're looking for a fun, romantic, funny type of drama, go rent this one! Worth every penny! heheheh... I simply love this drama
my rating? 9/10 hehe
Cast/Characters:
Jung-sook Yoon is an 18-yrs old teenager when she found out that the man she met on a windy day, was actually the man who was arranged to have an arranged marriage with her. She's a energetic, warm-heart girl who just adore being married to Hyuk-joon, eventhough she realized that he married her just because of his grandpa's sake.
Hyuk-joon Kwon is a well-known prosecutor in his field, well-educated handsome man whose past is coming back to hunt him *hehehe* His ex-girlfriend (Ga-young) stirs up this story in such a way that I believe you also would want to slap her silly but despite of that, he is a faithful man to his wife, and it is so sweet to see how their relationship is becoming more and more like a true husband and wife

Hi Lie
That review was not written by Fly. Our PRM Fly is NOT Indonesian.

Ga-young is actually quite enjoyable to watch. She's mean but she's not really evil. Many of her scenes, especially those with LDG's sister in the later part of the drama, are just hilarious. It's great to see her get her just "rewards" but you also feel sorry for her. I don't hate her at all. It's quite funny but HJH as the main character has really small eyes whereas the two female supporting characters have really big eyes. Quite a contrast. Besides the main story, there's also a nice side plot involving LDG's best friend, Prosecutor Suh, and LDG's sister, Sun-ah. I hope the guy playing Suh gets a lead role one day. He's really quite a hunk himself, the intellectual-looking sort with glasses. Handsome chap and very tall too. In Sweet 18, LDG describes him as a good friend who gives bad advice from time to time! |
