A walk through Hotel Seoul

contributed by Frank (email: frank_shin_byj@hotmail.com)

The best part of my Seoul trip started when I stepped into our Hotel. That feeling is truly magical. I could almost feel the presence of Frank, especially when I sat at the bar, drinking Martini, in Casablanca.

Casablanca was quite empty during my first night of visit. We made full use of the great opportunity to take many shots of the place after seeking clearance from the Manager.

While sitting on my special place at the bar, drinking Martini, I dedicated a song, Wonderful Tonight, by Eric Clapton. We decided to pay a second visit on our second night in Seoul. All the hotel staff at Casablanca has made our stay most pleasant. In fact, the Manager welcomed us like VIPs.

There is a live band from Bulgaria that played pop songs in Casablanca. Personally, I think they are not very good. In particular, their singing as well as style do not fit into the mystique atmosphere of Casablanca. That is the only setback of the special place.

Looking at the scanned photos, I am most impressed by the majestic Main Entrance. I never realised that it could look so good while zoomed-in. Actually, I took much more pictures than these, but sad to say, lots of them did not turn out well, especially those taken in Starlight.

Trust me, you will be mesmerised by the great view from Starlight, with tall clear glass walls, while overlooking the Han River and City. The dinner there was very costly and small. However, that's worth every cent, because of Frank, because of that magnificent view.

By now, I am sure that you have already realised that pictures on Diamond Villa and Sapphire Villa are "missing". Both Villas are in the restricted zone and thus out of bounds. The security in our Hotel is very tight. You will notice a lot of security guards and barriers guarding the entrances that connect to the private Villas. We managed to convince the guards to allow us wonder a little further off than what is usually allowed. That's how we managed to snap a picture of the tennis court.

All in all, Hotel Seoul is magnificent. There is also an added significance now, isn't that so? How I wish we could visit our Hotel together...
