Yes! I finally met HOTELIER.

I am Japanese and I love watching Japanese Dramas, and nothing stopped me from watching them even after I moved to Australia. I have watched so many of them.

One day, my Chinese friend recommended me to watch WLS. I felt suspicious as I never knew any K-dramas. We always exchange J-dramas VCDs as she can read Chinese subtitles, but not this time. I cannot read Chinese and don’t understand Korean. So oh well, too bad then. I didn’t worry about it too much.

After about half year, which was 4 months ago, I was reading Japanese news on the net and happened to learn about BYJ and WLS.
“Hmmmm, all right then. This is the guy who played in this Sonata thing and people are crazy about him and the movie.”

It got me interested!! I found that I could get WLS from the net with Japanese dubbing. I was shocked when I found that this drama has 20 episodes as there are normally a maximum of 12 episodes in J-dramas. I started watching it and soon wondered why they had to drag so many episodes just for this kind of story. However, I finally finished watching it and, yeah, not bad after all. Good acting, beautiful scenery, good songs. I could not accept the plot much as it is only talking about love and hate, and very slow moving. Although I expected it to be draggy… It was quite tiring and I nearly forwarded some scenes as I could not handle the bad tempo. I didn’t cry at all. I heard many people felt so emotional with this drama, but not me.

After watching it, I called my friend to tell her how I felt about WLS. I just told her that it was OK. BYJ is a quite good looking man also. That’s all I said.

I wanted to watch another BYJ drama straight after watching WLS. I started HOTELIER. And this time I watch it in Japanese Subtitles. I didn’t know anything about this drama. There was no expectation. Even I had some funny feelings for the title, “HOTELIER”? Sounds weird…

Guess what happened to me after watching? Oh no…. I can’t get out of it. I am so hooked on this!! I can’t believe that I turn into K-drama like crazy. I called my friend again and told her how I felt. She was so surprised about how far I’ve gone.

How beautiful is this drama!! It is absolutely fantastic!! Unbelievable! Speechless! And the songs (in both Korean and English) are just excellent. I’ve no objections whatsoever. Unlike WLS, I didn’t feel 20 episodes is long at all.

This drama has everything (no horror though).
You can:
1. laugh
2. cry
3. get excited

You can see:
1. love stories (yes. not just one)
2. friendship between man and man; man and woman; woman and woman.
3. a family relationship.
4. a war in business.
5. sacrifices toward your job you choose.
6. beautiful scenery and beautiful songs (a lot of it).
7. excellent actors and actresses and they all good looking!
etc…..

Now I don’t worry about J-dramas at all. Hotelier has taken over me completely and the appearance of BYJ and SYA just take my breath away. It will take a long time for me to step into another one. I can’t think of any other at the moment. Just one thing I am a bit worried about is – as I play the OST and watch this drama all the time, my one year old son will be listening to more Korean than Japanese. I guess he will learn Korean first, which is not my intention. However, this is unavoidable for a while. Oh well…

I would like to say thank you for my Chinese friend for introducing K-drama world to me. If not for her, I wouldn’t have known Hotelier.
This drama is the best one I have ever seen in my life. I will recommend it to everyone without hesitation.
